Inspired by the countless dogs needing adoption and loving families each year, the LovePup Foundation is hosting a virtual #LovePupDay across local iHeart Media stations on Saturday, October 10th. Families are invited to join the fun and shares their photos and stories of dogs in their lives, using the hashtag #LovePupDay. On KRQ.com, a virtual adoption event, with information on local shelters from which to adopt dogs, will be held.
Started by Johnjay Van Es (of Tucson’s hit radio station, 93.7 KRQ) and his wife Blake, the foundation began with a clear mission in mind: “We believe that all dogs deserve the best possible home. We love all of them as our own!” Started with a love for dogs and a desire to care for and help re-home as many as possible, the foundation has grown to host special adoption day events and sell merchandise, the proceeds of which benefit the great work of the foundation. Rancho Sahuarita will serve a sponsor for this event, along with Lerner&Rowe Injury Attorneys and others.
With the COVID-19 pandemic, most large events across the country and in Arizona have been cancelled and rescheduled. Despite this fact, the virtual #LovePupDay aims to still celebrate the importance of adopting furry friends in need. Recognizing that “right now family togetherness is more important than ever”, and recognizing the role that dogs play in that for many, the event’s social sharing will celebrate this fact.
