Schools & Education

We know how important it is to live in a community that provides an outstanding educational environment. That’s why we are proud that Sahuarita is home to a premier school district and is ranked #1 in Education, Health and Safety by WalletHub.

Sahuarita Unified School District

Sahuarita Unified School District (SUSD) is home to two elementary schools, one middle school, three K-8 schools, two high schools, and an early childhood center.

The District is committed to creating school environments that support the physical, mental, cognitive, and emotional well being of students, including athletics, fine arts, and afterschool programs.

The district boasts high quality, award-winning teachers and staff, and excels in groundbreaking curriculum and programs. SUSD was the first school district in Arizona to implement the National Math and Science Initiative (NMSI), and offers many AP and dual enrollment courses to students.

It also understands that each student is different, and seeks to offer the educational building blocks for all kinds of post-secondary learning, including college prep, JTED courses, Heavy Equipment Operations and more.
