A shared commitment to economic development, a sense of community, and celebrating what is special about each city, ignited the desire to enter into the Sister City agreement.

Attendees from the Town of Sahuarita included Mayor Duane Blumberg, various Council Members, and Town staff. Attendees from Magdalena were comprised of various dignitaries, including the Mayor, Dr. Jesus Rodolfo Martínez Leal. Also in attendance were other members of the Sahuarita community, include Dr. Valenzuela from the Sahuarita Unified School District, and Humberto Stevens from the Green Valley Sahuarita Chamber of Commerce.
