On Friday, February 6th, the Sahuarita Water Company participated in the Sahuarita-Green Valley Water Festival. The event, which was the second for the region, was held at Sahuarita Middle School. This allowed students to participate in a variety of activities and demonstrations that highlighted the importance of water in the region. The Water Company was one of many partners that participated in the event.
The event is held as part of “Project Wet” which “develops water stewardship and STEM literacy by providing teacher professional development focused on 21st century skills, direct student outreach that delivers or extends classroom learning, and community engagement.” This festival helps teachers meet their 4th grade science standards through this community driven event.
