Residents of Rancho Sahuarita gathered in large numbers on Saturday, September 13th to celebrate the grand opening of a second fire station in the community. Rural/Metro Fire Department, the subscription-based fire protection provider for the area, opened Station 82 in the master-planned community’s northernmost region. The company previously opened Station 79 in the Sahuarita Town Center last year.
The event included a free pancake breakfast for attendees, as well as an open house and a ceremony involving local officials, the Rural/Metro Honor Guard and Pipes and Drums, and Cub and Boy Scouts of local troops. After a special presentation by Captain Grant Cesarek, the flag raise was officially raised over the station.
