Rancho Sahuarita Trails and Tails 5k and 1 Mile Doggie Dash Nov. 14th, 2026!

Rancho Sahuarita is bringing Southern Arizona families and their four-legged friends together for the inaugural Trails & Tails 5K and 1 Mile Doggie Dash on Saturday, Nov. 14, at Sahuarita Lake Park. All proceeds will benefit animal shelters and adoption agencies across Southern Arizona, helping cover critical care costs for pets awaiting adoption.

The event offers two race formats. The 5K Run/Walk is open to all ages and abilities and starts at 7:30 a.m. The 1-Mile Doggie Dash follows at 7:45 a.m. and welcomes people and dogs of all ages and abilities. Pets are not permitted on the 5K course.

Community activities run from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m., and include entertainment, inflatables, food trucks, a vendor fair, and appearances by the Puppy Patrol. A “Doggy Best-Dressed” Contest, with divisions for small, medium, and large dogs, starts at 9:30 a.m.

“Shelters and rescues across Southern Arizona are almost always stretched thin, and it takes real community support to keep up,” said Courtney Leon, vice president of marketing at Rancho Sahuarita. “Trails & Tails gives families and their dogs a reason to come together at the lake while making a real difference for shelters and rescues doing important work in our region.”

Rancho Sahuarita is producing the event in partnership with Run Tucson and iHeartMedia. Race-day registration and packet pickup begin at 6:30 a.m. at the Sahuarita Lake Amphitheater, 15466 S. Rancho Sahuarita Blvd.
