Edgar and Salvacion Lytle relocated to Rancho Sahuarita after their retirement in 2014 from Alaska to be closer to their grandkids. Ed and Sal also have 3 dogs and enjoy the miles of walkable trails throughout the community.
Ed and Sal are members of the Saguaro Club – which is a 50+ active adult group that benefits from additional events, activities and more. A couple of their favorite Saguaro Club events has been exploring Arizona with their friends to Tombstone Historic Park and Kitts Peak National Observatory.
The couple also attend events such as Coffee Social and Movies Under the Stars. Sal enjoys the fitness classes offered by the robust Health and Wellness Department – with her favorite being Zumba and Core and more.
Throughout their history in Rancho Sahuarita, Ed and Sal have enjoyed seeing the growth of the community and moments where it gathers to support each other. Safety was also a large component to the couple’s decision in moving to the community and they love seeing families walking together and children playing in the neighborhood.
Seeing the impact of everything the Rancho Sahuarita team does to Create a Better Life for its residents, Ed started working for Rancho Sahuarita as Community Relations after the COVID-19 pandemic with the goal of bringing people and community together. He shares that he and the team aim to do this by fostering relationships, boosting resident engagement and lifestyle.
But it doesn’t stop there, Sal is recognized by the children in the community as “Mama Sal” for her mother-like personality and the ability to create impactful relationships everywhere she goes. Ed is recognized by his involvement with the newly established local chapter Disabled American Veterans (DAV) for helping veterans and their families. For going above and beyond, Ed recently received the 2023 Creating a Better Life Community Impact Award from Rancho Sahuarita.
