Construction is almost complete on Rural/Metro Fire Department’s new fire station in the Sahuarita Town Center. Station #79 is a design wonder, and has many great features that will help the employees and captains residing there deliver even greater value to the community and its residents. Special features include rooms with space for sleeping and storage, a full functional kitchen, a large great room and common areas for employees, and a bay designed to house up to 5 firefighting apparatus. The size of the bay offers room for additional apparatus and expansion capabilities as the Town of Sahuarita grows. Other elements designed to maximize the efficiency of the building include the electrical design, which has lighting controls for outdoor lighting and motion switches inside to turn lights off when not needed.
