Community 4th of July Event – “Red, White and Boom!” Returns for Another Year

The community’s signature 4th of July celebration, the “Red, White and Boom!” event returning again this year, on Thursday, July 4th from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. the Sahuarita Lake Park. Various entities and organizations are partnering to make the event possible, including Rancho Sahuarita, the Town of Sahuarita’s Parks and Recreation Department and others. Thousands of residents from the town and from the surrounding region are likely to turn out for this popular event, which had nearly 10,000 in attendance for its inaugural year back in 2015.

The evening event will include performances from live bands, other family entertainment, food vendors and more. The highlight of the evening is the fireworks show, which begins at 9:00 p.m. Families are encouraged to arrive prior to this, however, as in past years the popularity of the spectacular show – with the lakeside seats being the prime viewing area – has made it a busy attraction.

The event will also feature the return of the “Whatever Floats Your Boat Competition”, which allows attendees the chance to build their own non-motorized boats and demonstrate them in front of spectators. Entries are then judged for the chance to win prizes and the winners are announced at the conclusion of the competition.

The Town of Sahuarita and Rancho Sahuarita ask that attendees please observe and respect all traffic restrictions.  Parking for the event will be available in various areas of the community in addition to those areas in immediate proximity of the main event area, including at the Anza Trail School parking lot and at a large dirt event parking lot that is located in Rancho Sahuarita along Rancho Sahuarita Blvd. south of North Park.
