A conference designed to encourage middle school girls to explore careers in science, technology, engineering and math, will be held in Sahuarita next month.
The deadline to register for Expanding Your Horizons is Feb. 21.
The conference will be held March 8 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Sahuarita Middle School. Students and their parents may register online athttp://www.expandingyourhorizons.org/conferences/Tucson/
In twelve hands-on workshops led by professional women and UA interns in a variety of science-related fields, students will conduct experiments and will learn the educational requirements for STEM careers.
Parent sessions will also be held on financial aid for college and how to help their students decide on the right courses in high school.
