The free “25th Anniversary Celebration” event on January 31 will bring the community together to celebrate 25 years of community, connection, and home.
Sahuarita, AZ – January 1, 2026 – Rancho Sahuarita is celebrating 25 years since its opening, kicking off with its “25th Anniversary Celebration” on Saturday, January 31st, 2026, from 3:00 – 6:30 p.m. at the Sahuarita Lake Amphitheater (15466 S. Rancho Sahuarita Blvd., Sahuarita, AZ 85629). The free community-wide celebration will include live music, food trucks, games for all ages, anniversary-commemorating activities, and a fireworks finale.
Founded in 2001, Rancho Sahuarita has grown into one of Southern Arizona’s most awarded master-planned communities, with more than 7,000 homes and 25,000 residents. The 25th anniversary marks a significant milestone and offers residents an opportunity to reflect on its growth and future.
“My late father believed every day was a good day to build something meaningful,” said Jeremy Sharpe, Managing Partner of Rancho Sahuarita. “That belief shaped how Rancho Sahuarita began and still guides us as we plan for future generations. This milestone celebrates the families who live and have lived here and the vision that made it possible.”
Development began in the early 1990s, when Founder Bob Sharpe purchased 3,000 acres of vacant land. Rather than develop a standard subdivision, he implemented a master plan focused on integrated parks and trails, tree-lined streets, schools, amenities, and a true sense of place. The first home closed in 2002. Today, Rancho Sahuarita includes more than 25 miles of trails, 15 parks, and three clubhouses, supported by over 320 resident and community events annually.
Rancho Sahuarita has received several recognitions over the years, including the Arizona Daily Star Readers’ Choice Award for Best Master Planned Community in Arizona and the Project of the Decade designation from the Metropolitan Pima Alliance. The community was also named one of the Top 10 Master Planned Communities in 2008 by RCLCO, a leading real estate advisory firm. In addition, Rancho Sahuarita has been consistently recognized as one of the top-selling master planned communities in both Arizona and the nation.
