This is the 8th in a series of 10 posts highlighting Rancho Sahuarita and the amenities that make it a great place for families. Look for other posts to come in the next few months!

Rancho Sahuarita residents frequently rank our trail system as one of their favorite parts of the community. With over 17 miles of paved pedestrian and cycling trails, it’s easy to see why! Whether you’re working with a client who is an outdoor enthusiast, a weekend warrior looking for something different to do, or a nature novice; they’ll be sure to enjoy a jog or stroll along these paths.

Our trail system connects most of our parks through a series of beautiful and safe walking and cycling paths.

Here’s a breakdown of the major interlinking trails in our community:

Safari Trail: Rancho Sahuarita’s most famous trail, The Safari Trail, is a unique walking path that is lined on all sides with life-size bronze statues of African animals.

De Anza Trail: A segment of the Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail, as designated by the National Park Service

Wilderness Trail: This wilderness trail winds through the Rancho Sahuarita community connecting various neighborhoods

The trails offer many opportunities to further one’s individual health and fitness goals as well. On any given day, you will find residents of the community taking a jog along the paths, or using any of the exercise equipment strategically placed along the way. Plus, major events take place on our trails from time to time; like the famous Sahuarita Triathlon (which returned to the town last year and will be returning again in 2016.) There is even a Triathlon Club for residents interested in joining fellow residents to train for the event.

So next time you’re working with a client that appreciates the great outdoors, be sure to mention our extensive trail system. It’s one not to be missed!
