Construction of Northwest Medical Center Sahuarita, Northwest Healthcare’s new hospital facility coming to the Sahuarita Town Center, is progressing well and moving forward. The facility, which is part of the provider’s “No Boundaries” expansion strategy, will be a key economic driver and service for families of the area, bringing 18 hospital beds, and 150 high-paying jobs to the region. The 77,000 square foot hospital also has the capacity to expand in the future.
The new building, which will include an emergency room and two operating rooms, as well as medical offices with services such as primary care, cardiology, orthopedics and general surgery, is anticipated to be completed in the third quarter of 2020.
Northwest Healthcare is already expanding their provider base in the Sahuarita/Green Valley area in anticipation of the facility’s opening. Recently, Dr. John Spencer and John Modrzejewski, FNP, became part of the Northwest Allied Physicians practice, which provides primary care services to patients at its clinic in the Rancho Sahuarita Marketplace. Next October, a family medicine and an internal medicine physician will join the clinic team offering the Sahuarita community additional primary care providers. Furthermore, Dr. Eliza Panczyk, cardiologist, has also begun practicing in the area and has joined the clinic next to Northwest Urgent Care on Duval Mine Road. A variety of other specialties including orthopedics, gastroenterology, general surgery and more will also support the new hospital.
Kevin Stockton, Regional President and Market CEO for Northwest Healthcare said, “We’ve heard from the community about the lack of primary care providers in the Sahuarita/Green Valley area. We are working to meet this need and will add an internal medicine as well as family medicine physician to our practice next October.”
With the addition of the new hospital, Northwest Healthcare anticipates hiring staff in the second quarter of 2020. Many inquiries have been received from Sahuarita and Green Valley area residents who are interested in working at the new facility and in their community, and additional information about those opportunities will be made available soon.
Northwest Medical Center Sahuarita plans to host a large community open house event in the third quarter of next year for the community just prior to the opening of the facility. More details about the open house will be announced in the coming months.
