Sahuarita Police Commander, Kaleb Allred, has been selected to attend the FBI National Academy. This is a prestigious leadership academy that is offered four times a year and is located in Quantico, Virginia. Commander Allred is one of three Law Enforcement leaders selected from the state of Arizona for the winter session.
Commander Allred has been an important part of the Sahuarita Community for many years. He was first hired with the Sahuarita Police Department in 2004 as a patrol officer. He worked as a patrol officer and created the department’s crime prevention program and Neighborhood Watch program. Allred was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2007 and has served as a patrol sergeant, detective sergeant and administrative sergeant since then. In 2012, he was promoted to the rank of Commander, and currently serves as the department’s patrol division commander.
Commander Allred has obtained his Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice Administration and a Masters of Business Administration with an emphasis in Public Administration from Columbia Southern University. He will now continue his education at the FBI National Academy.
“I am excited to attend the FBI National Academy. It is a great development opportunity for me and my career and also for the Town of Sahuarita,” commented Allred.
The FBI National Academy is a professional course of study for U.S. and international law enforcement leaders that serves to improve the administration of justice in police departments and agencies at home and abroad and to raise law enforcement standards, knowledge, and cooperation worldwide.
Its mission is “to support, promote, and enhance the personal and professional development of law enforcement leaders by preparing them for complex, dynamic, and contemporary challenges through innovative techniques, facilitating excellence in education and research, and forging partnerships throughout the world.” This 10-week program consists of educational courses, physical fitness training and professional development seminars and networking opportunities.
“I look forward to building relationships that will last a lifetime. It is an outstanding opportunity for networking and learning new techniques in law enforcement from around the world. I am grateful to my department, the Town Council and the Town Manager for supporting me in this opportunity,” said Allred. “I am also grateful to my wife and kids for their support. I look forward to returning and working with our wonderful staff to continue providing the best service to our community.”
