In August, Fry’s Food Stores held a special 3-day long Grand Opening Celebration to mark the opening of their new gas canopy, located at “The Corner” in Rancho Sahuarita. Fry’s Food Stores and Rancho Sahuarita XX L.L.C. closed on the sale of a commercial pad back on February 8th, and with a soft opening the canopy opened for business on August 2nd. This is the second gasoline provider in the community, which has an existing Shell Station on-site. The three day event lasted from Friday, August 18th, through Sunday, August 20th, and featured discounts, giveaways, a radio remote on-site and more.
Key members of the Rancho Sahuarita Company joined management from the Fry’s team for a special ribbon-cutting the morning of the 18th. They were also joined by Mayor of Sahuarita, Tom Murphy, Town Council Member, Bill Bracco, and President/CEO for the Green Valley Sahuarita Chamber of Commerce, Joe Erceg.
“We’re so excited to offer the Sahuarita community another place to fuel up and use their Fry’s V.I.P. fuel rewards! With this new fuel center, Fry’s is now serving customers at more than 92 fuel centers across the state of Arizona”, stated, Amy McCain, Fry’s Store Manager.
The gas canopy is a welcomed addition to the community, which after continued growth over the last decade has a demand for more commercial development. “The Corner” is a new development in Rancho Sahuarita, and features 6 commercial pads total on its 5.1 acres. The new gas canopy is the first occupant on the new development, and plans for other future commercial offerings will be announced as they come to fruition.
Fry’s has an existing “Fry’s Marketplace” grocery store, located in the Rancho Sahuarita Marketplace. The grocer also recently introduced the addition of their ClickList feature at the Marketplace, where patrons can browse and place orders for their grocery items online and then pay for and pick up their purchases in store.

This latest addition was a combined effort of the Fry’s Team, the Town of Sahuarita, and the development team working together through the design, bid, permitting, and build process.
