This spring, the Rancho Sahuarita Village Program will unveil a brand new set of programs, classes, events, and a remodeled Clubhouse as part of a new comprehensive health program scheduled to launch in Summer 2015.
In 2014, Rancho Sahuarita was recognized by the Urban Land Institute as a model healthy community. Their assessment was based on Rancho Sahuarita’s existing healthy amenities, including Club Rancho Sahuarita, the community’s many parks, the extensive trail system, and the robust fitness and health-oriented programming offered to residents (fitness classes, sports lessons, athletic camps and events, and many others).
The new program, which will include a nod to Southern Arizona’s rich farming history and draws ideas from successful communities across the country, is an expansion of Rancho Sahuarita’s existing health and wellness programming, and is intended to provide even more convenient options for residents to enjoy an active lifestyle.
The physical centerpiece of the program will be a culinary kitchen in the Rancho Sahuarita Clubhouse. The state-of-the-art kitchen will play a key part in enhancing Rancho Sahuarita’s health and wellness program, by adding a nutrition component to the community’s existing fitness programming.
Potential programming for the demonstration kitchen includes culinary competitions and cook-offs, and nutrition seminars and classes.
In addition to the kitchen area, the Clubhouse transformation will include flex space that can be used for classes, activities, events, and resident use.
The renovation of the Clubhouse is an investment in the Rancho Sahuarita community that will enhance residents’ lives and help to maintain strong property values for all. The renovation will give new life to the Clubhouse and introduce new activities and events to the Rancho Sahuarita lifestyle.
Renovations and construction of the new kitchen and associated multipurpose spaces began in January. Access to some areas of the Clubhouse will be restricted during construction.
