7 Ways Residents Can Celebrate Fall in Rancho Sahuarita

  1. Enjoy Your Backyard

Fall evenings are the perfect time to invite family and friends over to sit around a fire pit or chimenea. Enjoy roasting hot dogs, making smores and telling stories around the fire while relaxing in the company of your loved ones.

  1. Capture Fall on Your Camera

Take a nature walk at the beautiful Sahuarita Lake.  Take pictures of your family dressed in fall colors near the changing trees or in front of the gorgeous evening sunsets. Keep the kids busy with a scavenger hunt collecting fall nature items along your walk.

  1. Get to Know Your Neighbors

The first ever resident Fall into Fall Resident Mixer was on Friday, November 3rd, from 6:00 to 9pm, and it proved to be the perfect time to make some new friends. This night included a special Fall Cooking Demonstration by Chef Chic, and drink tickets for residents to purchase and enjoy.

  1. Talk About the Importance of Thanksgiving and Family Traditions

Thanksgiving is a special holiday focused on being thankful and spending time with loved ones. Consider the opportunities this day presents to teach children about the important values of Thanksgiving, such as thankfulness, gratitude, and family. Tell your children stories and traditions from your childhood Thanksgiving celebrations and keep holiday family traditions alive.

  1. Take Time to Honor Those that Have Served in the Military

It’s important to remember those that have served and protected our country every day, but fall is a great time to give special gratitude and honor for the service and sacrifice of veterans and their families. Residents gathered together for the special Veterans Appreciation Barbecue on Saturday, November 18th to do just that!

   6. Give Back

Giving a little of your time to help others is a wonderful way to celebrate any season and fall is full of opportunities to do that. One such opportunity to give back to the community was the American Red Cross Blood Drive on Saturday, November 18th from 10:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Residents turned out to participate and give back to those who need it most! Blood drives are held many times throughout the year, so residents can stay tuned it for future dates.

  1. Plan a Neighborhood Flag Football Party

Gather families from your neighborhood and meet up at one of the Rancho Sahuarita community parks for a friendly game of Flag Football.  Reserve a Ramada at the Clubhouse and have each family bring a favorite dish to share for a casual after-game potluck.

Fall has lots of opportunities to celebrate, and countless ways to remember the reason for the season in your backyard!
