If you are looking for something new and fun to do around Sahuarita on the weekends, never fear, because our friends at the Arizona Daily Star are here to help. A fun article by Luis F. Carrasco brings to light a highly anticipated addition to our community! The article, found at Tucson.com, and titled Pedal Boats, Kayaks Now for Rent at Sahuarita Lake tells about the new opportunity to rent Kayaks and Peddle Boats at Sahuarita Lake! This rental service had been an idea that was conceived right around the birth of the Town and lake; so it is something exciting and fun for staff, residents and people around the community. Carrasco mentions how great the exercise can be on top of the fun you’ll have, and he goes in-depth about this new availability, open to the public, he talks about the decision making process around opening up rentals to the public, and the article also includes an interview with the owner of the rental business about the logistics and even includes tips and hints on when the best time to be on the lake is!

The rental business’ Winter hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m on Saturdays and Sundays only. The cost per rental are $20 for kayaks and $25 for pedal boats and tandem kayaks — kayak rentals include life jackets and paddles. All rentals are for one hour.

Be sure to check the weather before you go, and when all you is see is sunshine, we will look forward to seeing you at the rental shack, located at the north end of Sahuarita Lake Park, 15466 S. Rancho Sahuarita Blvd!
